Voooooo---Peeeeee---

Synopsis

Voooooo---Peeeeee--- is a multisensory XR experience where a woman discovers her body has become hollow after being reconstructed as data. Wind leaks from within, and a strange creature settles in the void, breathing in rhythms of expansion and collapse. Her monologue drifts between memories of loss, data clouds beneath the sea, and endlessly replicated virtual worlds.

Statement

Voooooo---Peeeeee--- explores the gap between expanding virtual worlds and the lived body, asking what kinds of sensations are lost as the physical body is translated into data. We wanted to imagine the expanding volume of the virtual world not only as something visual, but as a physical sensation of pressure and breath on the participants’ bodies. Through VR cinema and a pneumatic wearable interface, the work translates virtual space into bodily sensation, inviting participants into a space where bodily presence and technological space overwrite one another.
